Welcome To Bourne Housing Authority
A Smoke Free Agency
The Bourne Housing Authority was established in 1965 to provide and maintain affordable housing for low and moderate income persons pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 121B.
There is a five-member Board of Commissioners responsible for policy making and general administration of the Authority. Four members are elected by Town voters and the fifth is appointed by the Commonwealth. The BHA’s administrative staff consists of an executive director, state housing administrator, federal housing administrator, leased housing coordinator, bookkeeper, and two maintenance staff.
The Housing Authority operates under guidelines set by regulatory agencies, the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Our mission is to provide safe, decent, and sanitary housing conditions for low to moderate income individuals and families, to promote affordable housing, to manage resources efficiently, and support and encourage the well-being and economic self-sufficiency of BHA residents.
The Bourne Housing Authority provides affordable housing for senior citizens, families, and people with special needs at properties located in Bourne, Pocasset, and Buzzards Bay.
