Federal Housing Voucher Program

The Bourne Housing Authority operates a Section 8 housing choice voucher program that allows assistance in private market housing. BHA receives federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer this program.

Management Office

The Management office of the Bourne Housing Authority is located in the Community Building at Roland Phinney Place, 871 Shore Road, Pocasset.  The office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.  Our telephone number is 508-563-7485.

Roland Phinney Place, located at 871 Shore Road, Pocasset, is a federal housing development built in 1983. It is owned and managed by the BHA. There are 56 one bedroom units for individuals who are at least 62 years of age or disabled. There are seven separate two story buildings in the complex. There are no elevators in the buildings. Rent includes heat and hot water. Residents are responsible for electric and telephone bills. All apartments are hooked up to cable TV. There is a minimal monthly cable charge that is approximately 1/5 of the actual cost to the public. This is a discount rate from Comcast Cable. There is a separate Community building with a kitchen, laundry facilities, and a family type room with a large screen TV for the use of all residents. The management offices are located in the Community Building. Rents are based on income.

Continental Apartments located at 8 Head of The Bay Road in Buzzards Bay, is a state housing development acquired by the BHA in 1965. It was originally a motel and converted to residential units. It is owned and managed by the BHA. There are 32 one bedroom units and 4 two bedroom units for individuals who are at least 60 years of age or disabled. There is one two story building. There are no elevators. Rent includes heat and hot water. Residents are responsible for electric and telephone bills. All apartments are hooked up to Cable TV. There is a minimal monthly cable charge that is approximately 1/5 of the actual cost to the public. This is a discount rate from Comcast Cable. The Community Room with a kitchen, laundry facilities, and a family type room with a large screen TV is located in the building for the use of all residents. Rents are based on income. Veterans and Bourne residents will receive a preference.

Waterhouse Apartments located at 89 Waterhouse Road in Bourne, is a state accessible housing development built in 1985. The property is owned and managed by the BHA. There are 16 wheel-chair accessible two and three bedroom units located in eight duplex homes. The units are designated for families who have at least one member of the household confined to a wheelchair. Residents are responsible for all utilities. In the event there are no eligible families in need of a wheelchair accessible unit, the units may be offered to other applicants on the family wait list. Rents are based on income. Veterans and Bourne residents will receive a preference.
